Spanish term

Herida profunda y tirante

Spanish to English Medical Medical (general)
Se deriva al hospital por herida en pierna profunda y tirante....

Referred to hospital due to a deep and (?) wound to the leg...

My guess is this refers to the skin surrounding the wound being tight...? But I'm not too sure. Any suggestions much appreciated!

agree Wilsonn Perez Reyes : Muy de acuerdo. Tirante es "bajo tensión".

Deep and tight wound

Considering "tirante" as an adjective, I would maintain parallelism in the description

but no hits for "tight wound" and it doesn't sound right to my English ears. We would say it feels tight..
agree Barbara Thomas : I like "deep, taut wound", also "deep, high-tension wound" https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32543379/

agree neilmac : Wouldn't the tightness usually appear after healing started? It did for me a couple of times...
