Bio

Senior translator, text-editor and teacher of English with more than 20 years of experience translating general documents, as well as sepeciased fields including literature, tourism, medicine, legal texts etc

My passion for English and translation drove me to get the degree of Translation and Interpretation at University when I was already a lawyer, since I also had the degree of Law.

Besides that, I am a curious tireless traveller interested in culture, and all that combined to the fact that I have lived and worked in the US and the UK helps me, not only to understand the language, but also its culture and society, crucia to be an excellent translator.

Senior translators know that in fact you do two translations:

1. English into Spanish

2. Spanish into Spanish

This means that the translation should ALWAYS sound as if it had been written in the target language: English (or Spanish if it is the other  way around). The reader should NEVER realise that he or she is reading a translation, but an original document.

For many years I have also taught English (I have the CAP) and, when I was living in London, I applied  for a job teaching Spanish and they hired me to teach English because they considered I had a native level of English.
