Source text - French L’histoire de la Norvège commence il y a environ 10 000 ans lorsque la glace a reculé après la dernière ère glaciaire. Les premiers humains qui ont foulé le sol norvégien étaient des chasseurs itinérants. Aucune certitude n’a été apportée sur l’origine exacte de ces précurseurs ni sur le parcours qu’ils ont suivis pour arriver jusqu’en Norvège. On pense néanmoins qu’ils sont venus de la mer du Nord, plus précisément d’une zone située entre le Danemark et l’Angleterre. Il est probable que certains ont emprunté une route au sud-est d’Østfold, à proximité de la frontière suédoise, tandis que d’autres sont passés par ce que l’on appelle le continent de la Mer du Nord, jusqu’au sud-ouest de la Norvège.
Translation - Norwegian Norges historie begynte for ca. 10 000 år siden, da isen trakk seg tilbake etter den siste istiden. De første menneskene som satte sin fot på norsk grunn, var omstreifende jaktfolk. Man vet ikke med sikkerhet hvor disse pionerene kom fra, eller hvilken vei de vandret inn i Norge. Man antar imidlertid at de kom fra Nordsjøen, nærmere bestemt fra et område mellom Danmark og England. Sannsynligvis har noen av dem vandret inn sørøst for Østfold, i nærheten av svenskegrensen, mens andre kom til Sørvest-Norge gjennom det som kalles Nordsjøfastlandet.

Source text - French On définit souvent le Haugalandet comme « le lieu de naissance de la Norvège ». Cette appellation fait référence à l’unification du pays aux temps des Vikings.
Après la bataille décisive de Hafrsfjord en l’an 872, le nouveau roi de Norvège Harald Ier, plus connu sous le nom de Harald-à-la-Belle-Chevelure, déclarera Avaldsnes le siège du royaume. En 1872, le monument national de Norvège a été érigé à Haraldshaugen pour rappeler ce haut fait historique.
Jusqu'au milieu du 19ème siècle, le seul moyen de communication pour le commerce et le transport était la voie maritime. Nordvegen était le plus important canal de navigation le long des côtes et passait par le détroit de Karmsund entre l'île de Karmøy et Haugesund. A travers les âges, ce détroit a été contrôlé par les rois à Avaldsnes. Avoir le contrôle sur le trafic dans cet endroit stratégique a été décisif dans l'établissement et la consolidation du pays. N’oublions pas que Nordvegen, littéralement « le chemin vers le Nord », donna son nom à la Norvège.
Translation - English Haugalandet is often called « The Cradle of Norway ». This nickname refers to the unification of the country during the Viking Age.
Following the decisive battle at Hafrsfjord in 872, the new King of Norway, Harald I (Harald Fairhair), declared Avaldsnes the royal seat of Norway. In 1872, the national monument Haraldsstøtten (« The Harald Column ») was erected on the Haraldshaugen summit, in memory of this historical accomplishment.
Until the mid 1800s, traveling by sea was the only option of communication for trade and transport. Nordvegen, « The North Way », became the most important navigation route, passing through Karmsundet between Karmøy and Haugesund. Throughout the years, the King at Avaldsnes would surveil the area. Controlling traffic at this strategic point, was decisive in order to establish and strengthen Norway as a nation. Let’s not forget that Nordvegen in fact gave its name to Norway.

Vi sender deg dette brevet, og håper på din forståelse. Vi håper også at du kan hjelpe oss slik at vi kan få leve sammen med den vi er glad i. Vi har funnet kjærligheten utenfor Norges grenser, og dette har ikke vært så enkelt. Vi må nemlig kjempe for å kunne leve sammen med ektefellen vår.
Vi lever nå under et inntektskrav som er umulig for mange å oppfylle. Dette hindrer både kone og mann, samboere, og ikke minst barn i å kunne leve sammen som en familie, slik de ønsker. Inntektskravet ble innført for å forhindre proformaekteskap og tvangsekteskap. Dette kravet blir imidlertid ikke brukt til dette formålet, men som et innvandringsregulerende middel! De som blir rammet er vanlige kvinner, menn og barn!
Erna Solberg, mener du også at kjærlighet mellom to personer skal koste 300.000 kroner?
Nå som dere har innført 300.000 kroner i inntektskrav for familiegjenforening, forlanger vi de samme kriteriene for nordmenn som gifter seg med andre nordmenn i Norge.
En som får asyl i Norge slipper inntektskravet det første året etter å ha fått innvilget opphold, og slik kan vedkommende hente hele familien sin til Norge. Over 90 % av de som får asyl benytter seg av dette. Dermed rammer inntektskravet for det meste de som er født og oppvokst her i landet, og som finner kjærligheten utenfor EU's grenser. Dette rammer også for det meste kvinner i lavtlønnsyrker, mennesker som har sesongarbeid (f.eks. arkeologer), bønder, selvstendig næringsdrivende, de som velger å jobbe i utlandet, og de som blir syke og havner på AAP.

We have found love outside of Norway’s borders, and this has turned out to be very difficult: We have to fight for the right to live with our spouses.
Currently, we have to meet certain income requirements, which for many families is impossible. This prevents husbands and wives, cohabiting couples and especially children from being able to live together as a family, according to their wishes and needs. These income requirements were implemented with the intent of preventing pro forma marriages and forced marriages. This requirement, however, is not used for the purpose it was intended, but as a means of controlling immigration. The people who are affected by this, are ordinary women, men, and children!
Prime Minister Erna Solberg, do you also think that love between two individuals should have a price of 300.000 Norwegian Kroner?
Now that you have implemented an income requirement of 300.000 Kroner for family reunification, we demand that you set the same criteria for Norwegians marrying other Norwegians in Norway.
A person who is granted asylum in Norway, is exempt from the income requirement the first year after having been granted residence, and this makes it possible for them to bring their whole family to Norway. More than 90% of those who are granted asylum, take advantage of this opportunity. In this way, the income requirement to a major extent afflicts those who are born and have grown up in Norway, and who happen to find love outside the borders of the EU. In addition, mostly women with low wage jobs are victims of this law, as well as seasonal workers (for instance archaeologists), farmers, self-employed people, those who choose to work abroad, and those who become ill and receive work clarification money.
I translated this 421 page tourist guide from French to Norwegian and then from French to English.
