I think this is a misnomer in Spanish. A transcript is not a transliteration (see definition below). You could also say "transcription."

I'm going to stick my head out and say this is a misunderstanding on the part of the author. A transliteration goes from one written form to another, as for example, use of the roman alphabet to re-write a text that was originally written in Greek letters. The transfer of spoken language to written text is TRANSCRIPTION.
