German term

Verpelzung

German to English Tech/Engineering Engineering (general) Clinker grinding plant
Mahlkoerperverpelzung. This is the possible cause of "hoher Materialumlauf" due to the finished product being too hot and the water injection not working.
Any ideas?

Discussion

Harry Borsje Aug 11, 2005:
see http://www.ctlgroup.com/dynamic_pdfs/HillsTangWorldCementJul... If the finish mill temperature is too hot (...) more gypsum will dehydrate to plaster than is desired. (must somehow be related to your question...)
Non-ProZ.com Aug 11, 2005:
Verpelzung The TM says "cushioning", can this be correct in the context?

clogging, coating

Ernst gives:
Ansatz m, Anbackung f, Verpelzen n (Keram) / coating

which makes me think of the pores in the grinder clogging up (formation of a 'Pelz', a fur-type coating)

German term (edited): Verpilzung

water mold Or water fungus

"Verpelzung" might be a typo.
I've searched for this word at Google and Yahoo, and only 7 to 11 results were returned. By typing "Verpilzung", I realized this has to do with mold. Then I found the synonym "Saprolegnia", which means "Water Mold" or "Water Fungus".
