English term

pinch weld

English to French Tech/Engineering Mechanics / Mech Engineering
Does this mean that the backing plate will pinch weld itself to the bracket, or is it an instruction for the installer to do the pinch-welding?

Secure the backing plates to the brackets using 5/16” fasteners as shown and leave loose. The backing plate will clamp the bracket and pinch weld together.

Madeleine Algrain Sep 25, 2006:
I think it means that the backing plate will pinch weld itself to the bracket (va se souder d'elle même). Just of proposal.

Soudure sur bords tombés

If I may sugegst “bords tombés” is correct but it’s a weld not a flange yet.
Alternative is simply "Bords tombés soudés"

I've seen this before: Lousy initial instructions.

"The backing plate will clamp the bracket and pinch weld together"
"Then clamp the backing with the bracket and pinch weld together."
