the imagination of the local people has also left its stamp

I understand imaginería means imagery, but imagery means the product of the imagination...

I'm obviously in the minority about the use of STAMP but this is how it is defined (with some examples):
: a distinguishing or characteristic imprint, sign, or impression : MARK <a poet who has left her stamp upon her generation -- Sara H. Hay> <these works have the classic stamp upon them -- Laurence Binyon> <the very stamp of genius -- Alfred Kazin> <in its content and terminology the unmistakable stamp of the backwoods -- American Guide Series: Ind.> c : the lasting imprint or residual impression of something : EFFECT <sun and weather ... and the deeper stamp of his new life have made him physically a stranger -- Dixon Wecter> <the stamp of his character upon his style -- Arnold Isenberg> d : external appearance : physical cast or form <the English look gave way to a Celtic stamp on the features of the inhabitants -- Richard Joseph>

thanks, Aida. I almost put that but I was a afraid it might sound too slangy, but it's how I would say it if I were talking!
agree Edward Potter : I like this one the best so far. But "left its mark" for me sounds better. The very best of luck to you on this translation, Adam :-) :-) :-).
