Good picture, resembling mine for "sequin chip". The fact is that others (e.g. textile flowers) have the smaller (1-2 mm), so "small" and "large" are just relative. However, thanks for our main tool: doubt :)

Are you sure, Yves? Remember that 'paillettes' is ambiguous in FR, meaning both the tiny stuff (= glitter) and also the big, round things usually sewn on dresses etc (= true sequins)

Hard to say, but let's try: the larger (chip) sequins would be larger than 3 mm, and the smaller (true) sequins would be, say, 1 or 2 mm. All this is in proportion with Xmas tree balls, silk flowers, etc.

Actually, I'd have thought that would be 'petites paillettes' — aren't these those kind of 'chips' about 1 to 2 mm square, like tiny mirror-tiles? As distinct from 'proper' sequins — more like a kind of coarse glitter, in fact?

Bonnes idées, merci! Chat et souris terminologique, toutefois : dans mon texte il y a déjà frosted > givré, powdered > poudré, sequin > paillettes, sequin chip > grosses paillettes (proposé).
