Hi! This sentence appears in a Power Point presentation I'm translating. I've never seen it in Spanish before, but I guess I get the meaning anyway. I was wondering if you know an equivalent in English.

"workhorse" is a term often applied to people who do very hard work, but none of it is spectacular or deserves special praise; these people tend to go unnoticed, and may even attract punishment, as in this phrase

EL CABALLO QUE MÁS TIRA está tomado de los transportes tirados por caballos, entre los cuales están los utilizados para trabajos en el campo (por ej. cosecha). Los caballos tiran del 'carro'/máquina y. por tanto son la 'workforce' para producir.
El dicho equipara a los trabajadores con los caballos utilizados para tirar carruajes y a los empleadores con los que van en los 'carros'/maquinarias tirados por caballos. Así como el empleador debe tener en cuenta que los trabajadores son los que le permiten producir 'algo', el que dirige a los caballos debe tener en cuenta que sin ellos no podría realizar su trabajo.
Esa es mi interpretación.
