English term

argued

English to Arabic Social Sciences Government / Politics reserach papers, presenting findings
"It is argued that the conflict between the original
settler class and the indigenous population often takes the shape of an ethnic or ‘racial’ conflict, but its basis remains economic."

I find يجادل very awkward in pasive form. Anything better?
