rate of natural immunity is 60% / rate of immune people in a community Explanation: I think this term is specific for Russian language and can not be translated in English directly -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 50 mins (2008-12-01 16:28:52 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- the fact that these two figures (40 and 60) total 100 is just a coincidence. I beleive the translation you proposed is correct ("when looking at a population, 60% of which is naturally immune, the score and coefficient are...) |

60% immune streak plate Explanation: The dose of infecting virus is reflected in the % lysis of target cells in the immune streak plate; when the percent goes to 60 there is a higher titer of infecting virus and the indices of the effectiveness of the vaccine are consequently lower. |
