Discussion

Hélène ALEXIS (asker) Jan 15, 2009:
textures I think, here the whole sentence (and sentence before) xx offers a selection of classic woven textures, subtle in spirit with emphasis on dimension. A bold basket weave in wool compliments a refined linen solid, while a complex modern cross gained texture provides an elegant balance to the collection.

Does the "basket weave" refer to pattern, texture, or both?

armure natté/e [ou Panama]

Weave translates as "armure," not "armature." Some sites add an e to "armure natté." Bold is translated many times in the KOG. There are many possibilities, and I've listed some of them below. Choose what you like best.

armure - weave
armure natté - basket weave
armure natté toile - hopsack weave
armuré - fancy weave

1 hr

armature nattée éclatante/hardie/osée/audacieuse

In this this case bold means bright colors therefore "éclatante" but one could go for the other meanings.

2 hrs

texture de vannerie marquée

It definitely refers to textures as opposed to colors (the preceeding sentence makes this clear).
