English term

In In the middle of September on the first pages of almost all newspapers ...

Homework / test English Bus/Financial Finance (general)
I have to correct this sentence because there is word order problem – word order within the bracket phrase , and/or placement of the phrase in brackets within in sentence

(In the middle of September on the first pages of almost all newspapers in the world was one word:) crisis; what was written not without a reason.

Orginal text:W połowie października na czołówkach większości gazet na świecie można było zobaczyć jedno słowo: kryzys.

On the front page of almost every newspaper published in mid-September

I think it's more than word order, it just does not sound like English...
Peer comment(s):

agree Nesrin : But maybe keep "the first pages" rather than "front page", if that's what the source text says. (does "in the middle of Sept." not sound right?)

I don't know Polish, but the text appears to suggest it is the first (front) page of every newspaper, not several pages. In the middle of September is not incorrect, but "mid-September" sounds better to me in this context (preference).
agree cmwilliams (X) : maybe 'There was one word on the front page.....:' since it would sound odd to say 'was one word' at the end.
