Concepto acuñado en Chile, hace referencia a un espectro de las Geociencias, asimilable como Agrimensura de acuerdo a lo expuesto en el diccionario de la Real Academia. Sin embargo, se ha preferido el concepto de Geomensura que se distancia de la asociacion de ideas con las agro-tecnologias (Agronomia, agricultura por mencionar algunas) y se asocia con las geociencias y la geomatica por ejemplo.
La geomensura se puede catalogar como una de las profesiones más antiguas en la Historia de la humanidad. A traves del tiempo ha ido creciendo en la medida que la ciencia proporciona nuevos descubrimientos y que la tecnica se va perfeccionando. Es asi que hoy la Ingenieria en Geomensura comienza con el estudios de las ciencias Basicas de la Ingenieria, comprende conocimientos especializados en Geomorfologia, Geodesia, Geomatica, Topografia "General" y especializada, Fotogrametria o Teledeteccion, Geografia, Cartografia, Tecnologias de Posicionamiento Satelital, Urbanismo, Catastro, Manejo y desarrollo de Sistemas de Informacion entre otras que agregan una larga lista.
En estas areas se especializan los Ingenieros Geomensores, quienes con la practica van descubriendo el camino para dominar la tecnica y proporcionando la informacion que otras especialidades requieren para Construir, Evaluar, Planificar, desarrollar o simplemente medir.

: The only Googly evidence I can find for the use of "geodaesia" in English is a book that was first published in 1688. I don't think it's in current usage [your explanation is in Spanish, and it simply establishes "geodesia" as an aspect of geomensura].
