appraisal of ad campaign
This is from an assessment of the performance of an ad campaign (by a car window repair firm). I can't find a good way of expressing this apart from publicity drive - 'prise de parole' here I think simply means they have taken centre stage, spoken out, 'talked' to the public, etc. Here they list the advantages of having launched their campaign:

Hello,
No matter how you slice it or dice it, "prise de parole" has to do with speaking about something, even if it's not literally "vocal."
speaking up = expressing freely
I hope this helps.

Another option.
The 'man-in-the-street' flavour of the ad. makes me think it is important to this firm that potential customers feel they know and can trust them.

Addressing the public

This is a bland and obvious option, similar to the "talking to the public" you use several times in your explanation.
Addressing the public has a positive influence on brand performance, etc.

Don't know if this applies here really, but just thought I'd start somewhere :-)

Hence my interpretation that it is more broadly the 'brand talking to the public'.They have not yet gone into the details of the commercial.
