M&A
Perspectives 2010 :
We believe that despite the fact that 2010 is probably a good time for cash-rich low-leverage companies to seek in-fill acquisition opportunities, overall volumes will be constrained, rendering M&A 2010 an idiosyncratic rather than market-wide (or macro credit) theme.
Je ne vois pas ce que signifie "in-fill". Merci d'avance

Discussion
So, by extension, I think here it might mean that, instead of making major acquisitions or moving into new businesses, companies will just fill in the gaps in their existing properties (e.g. a newspaper chain might pick up a failing newspaper in a city where it doesn't have a paper at present, but no one would consider buying an entire newspaper chain in the current environment). Does that fit your context?
Does it help?
