German term

Kettengeschäft

German to English Bus/Financial Finance (general) Specs/Stds
Hi folks.

I am doing a spec for fare management systems and I hit this term. Everywhere wants to translate it as "chain store" but I do not believe that it has that meaning here.

Now the offending sentence:

Auch das für die Sicherung der Zweiseitigkeit in den Geschäftsbeziehungen erforderliche Kettengeschäft (falls als Konstrukt von der BAFin gefordert) lässt sich auf der Basis des überarbeiteten Modells eindeutig darstellen.

I think they are using it in the sense of some sort of "serial business deal" but I cannot find any sort of confirmation.

Any thoughts welcome as this is REALLY not my area.

after sales business / subsequent business

both terms reflect follow-up business after an initial transaction and are used in the automotive industry.
In banking one would speak of mass-/retail business (via the branches (chain) of the bank
