Spanish term

Función (de un proyecto o servicio) que se encarga de

Spanish to English Law/Patents Law: Contract(s) IT Outsourcing Contract
I’m translating an Outsourcing Contract from Spain. One of the annexes to the contract is a Glossary of Terms, and my query relates to one of the entries in that glossary.

CONTEXT:

Comunicación y gestión del cambio:

Función de un proyecto o servicio que se encarga de informar a los receptores del servicio o resultados del proyecto de las informaciones que les son relevantes, con objeto de facilitar la evolución y el cambio.’

What I’m having problems with is how to express ‘Función’ and ‘que se encarga de’ in this context. ‘Role’ or ‘Function’ wouldn’t be right here, for obvious reasons; and ‘is responsible for’ doesn’t work either...

Any ideas? I’m translating into US English. Many thanks in advance.

I forgot to mention... Because of the further context I have available to me (and indeed based on my own personal experience), I know that there are many "functionaries" (or staff with particular IT functions/roles) involved in the provision of the services being outsourced here.

This definition is referring to all of their roles collectively. It does not refer to the role/function of one specific person (or even dept.) — which is precisely my problem here.

Just thought I'd clear that up. Thanks for all your help. Saludos.

Thanks, Rosa.
I like your suggestion of '<u>aims to</u>'; so far I've got 'the <u>side/aspect</u> of a project or service <u>that aims to</u>...', but am not 100% happy with it... Appreciate your help :-)

Original: "<i><u>Función de un proyecto o servicio que se encarga de</u> informar a los receptores del servicio o resultados del proyecto de las informaciones que les son relevantes, con objeto de facilitar la evolución y el cambio.</i>" Translation: "<i><u>The element of a project or service that aims to</u> report a project’s outcome or information pertaining to the recipients of a service, in order to facilitate development and change.</i>" Thanks to all for your valued help :-)"

agree philgoddard : I know funzione is often used to mean "individual" or "employee" in Italian, and it fits the context here. Servicio is "department".
