: I'm not not sure this is a common phrase (only a single reference). Also I think the word "kundenanonym" refers to the product inception/creation, not production.

You're right: there are very few references. Still: I think they mean the oppsoite of "customer specific" or "customized". "Anonymous" doesn't sound that bad. Thanks!

Oops sorry, I just realized it's "kundenanonyme Produktentstehung" in the source sentence. But in the preceding sentence, we have "kundenbezogene Entwicklung". Strictly speaking though, 'Produktentstehung' would be 'product origination' or 'product creation', but it seems to me that here the author has used 'Produktenstehung' and 'Produktentwicklung' interchangeably.
In sum, I stand by my tip.
