Reference: hull vs. envelope Reference information: I've done some research too and found that apparently both terms are used to refer to "envolvente" (envoltorio must be the Spanish equivalent used in Spain). "envelope", however, is the term I'm familiar with, and it seems to have a broader use than "hull" (convex hull). Besides, since the "convex hull" is also called "convex envelope", "envelope" is, in my opinion, the safest bet in this case.
