I think this is a polite criticism of the document has been drawn up in a sloppy manner, with the drafter not making up his/her mind whether to call them « les requérants » or « les ayants-droit » .

Thanks Tony. It is standard boilerplate in a contract to name a party and then state "hereinafter called the XXX".
