P.A.

French to English Social Sciences Education / Pedagogy Course Descriptions - Canada
This is in a list of courses within a Canadian college program.

-----
[Course designation 1] Beginning Basket Weaving
[Course designation 2] Advanced Basket Weaving, P.A.: [Course designation 1]
-----

Clearly, it seems to be saying that Beginning Basket Weaving is a prerequisite for Advanced Basket Weaving, but does anyone actually know what the letters stand for? I feel like this is obvious, but it just won't come to me.

Discussion

Yolanda Broad May 22, 2011:
Thanks. Having the French may help somebody recognize the "P.A."!
Anne Goff (asker) May 22, 2011:
There is no course description and the "P.A." is clearly not specific to this course as it is used again further down the list for another pair of "Beginner" "Advanced" courses.

The "course designation" is not something that needs to be translated, it is simply an internal college code for the class like "ENG 102" for an English class. So...

---
BW 1 Beginning Basket Weaving
BW 2 Advanced Basket Weaving, P.A.: BW 1

ENG 100 Beginning English
ENG 101 Intermediate English, P.A.: ENG 100
---

The actual courses are "Mode oral élémentaire" and "Mode oral avancé" but this is not what I need translated.

What is the course description in French I assume you want to translate the course description, including P.A., to English? Could you provide the course description in French? That way, we'd have a context for searching for the answer.
