Calm down..I have now recovered from all the somersaults:)
David Brown (asker) Jun 14, 2011:
dependent areas/parts Liz, calm down. I am not disputing that dependent parts/areas is correct, just that it does not explain what they are, and I thought I might get some support, which you and eski have provided.
Quote: "Dependent oedema is a case of oedema that changes with the state of the underlying cause’s dependent parts. For example, when a person has leg edema as a result of congestive heart failure, as the buildup of plaque within the effected vessel gets worse, so does the oedema in the leg".
liz askew Jun 14, 2011:
It is most definitely "dependent areas"..http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=dependent areas of the body...
liz askew Jun 14, 2011:
Good luck in your quest David.
David Brown (asker) Jun 14, 2011:
dependent parts I am not convinced that this is a true meaning of "zonas declives". I think it means "oedema that shows up depending on the position of the body". That is, when lying down on the back it falls to the back of the body and when standing up it falls to the bottom part of the body, and to the side, etc.
Any comments?

see proz reference provided.

dependent parts of the body ¿for example?

flanks

When referring to edema in a bedridden patient, zonas declives refers to the flanks.
