Spanish term

ajusta las ventas... en un 86,55%

Spanish to English Marketing Advertising / Public Relations Estudios de mercado, modelización

Provisionalmente interpreto:

"For the period from January 2008 to April 2011, a model is found which fits the sales of XXXX to 86.55%."

My take.

agree neilmac : This is the correct translation of the original ("ajustar", not "ajustarse a"). IMO there is a difference (transitive/intransitive).

Thanks NM.
neutral DLyons : That's grammatically correct, but seems improbable for a usable model.

Depends entirely on the model on which we have no further details.
agree Claudia Reynaud : That's what it says.

has an 86.55% fit to the sales

Same meaning, just a more usual phrasing.

which gives an adjusted figure of 86.5% for sales of xxx

does your text mean that the model calculates the actual sales at 86.5% of the reported sales?

or does it mean that the model "predicts" the sales for that period, using sales figures previous to that time, with an accuracy of 86.5%?
