como practicamente toda nuestra generacion devoradores de gran series

Spanish to English Other General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters
Hello,
What would be a good English translation for the following sentence

Nosotros somos como practicamente toda nuestra generacion, devoradores de gran series.

The speaker is a webseries producer.
Thanks

Discussion

philgoddard Jul 19, 2011:
I've found the context and posted it as a reference entry. "Gran" looks like a mistake by the asker.
Michael Powers (PhD) Jul 19, 2011:
"gran" instead of "grandes" and "avid" I agree. It looks like English influence. Of course in English, in a given situation, "series" is singular, but into Spanish in that case it translates as "serie" and not "series". Since grammatically "series" is plural, it should be "grandes". Good point, Phil.

David, I like your suggestion of "avid fans"
philgoddard Jul 19, 2011:
And why 'gran' rather than 'grandes'?
Simon Davies Jul 19, 2011:
I like Michael's, but how about "avid fans of great series".
morihei Jul 19, 2011:
We are like almost all of our generation, devouring great series.
Jenni Lukac (X) Jul 19, 2011:
From the rest of the text or context, what do you think the writer means by "gran"? Long? Famous? Costly?

like practically all our generation, we are fervent/passionate consumers/fans of a great series

I believe it would be along these lines - fervent or passionate consumers or even fans

Spanish term (edited): como prácticamente toda nuestra generación, devoradores de grandes series

like most of our generation — obsessed with must-watch series

Again, thanks to Phil for the further context.

Example sentence:

“...como prácticamente toda nuestra generación, devoradores de grandes series...”

“...like most of our generation — obsessed with must-watch series...”

Peer comment(s):

agree philgoddard : I like this - it takes liberties, but sounds more colloquial.
