As I mentioned before I am translating a solicitor's letter in French regarding the discharge of a mortgage and I came accross the above. Would it be accurate to translate it by " il acquiterra le pret hypothecaire en cours"

la radiation de l'hypothèque se fait auprès du Conservateur des hypothèques par l'intermédiaire d'un notaire. La mainlevée est soumise à des frais.

si on est dans un contexte de garantie financière (questions précédentes), je ne crois pas qu'il s'agisse de la mainlevée de l'hypothèque (aspect légal), mais de l'aspect fiancier, "mortgage" signifiant ici "prêt hypothécaire", et non pas "hypothèque".
