Spanish term

disparado

Spanish to English Other Ships, Sailing, Maritime
This is from a very recent interview of the CEO of a leading healthcare firm. He is talking about the state of the healthcare in Spain, the effects of the recent reforms, and what he feels should be done next in healthcare. I haven't the faintest clue what this means.
to UK English
TIA!

Interviewer: ¿El mercado hospitalario está tan disparado como se dice frecuentemente?

Discussion

S Ben Price (asker) May 22, 2012:
Andy I just forgot to change the subject. This is definitely not maritime.
Andy Watkinson May 21, 2012:
"Aye, matey, a leading *sea-going pirate*
healthcare firm ... details, details"

What do you mean, exactly? You posted the question under that heading. I can re-classify it if you wish.

Also, don't you have the reply to the interviewer's question?
That would be a helpful comment/additional info.

Ships, Sailing, Maritime?? .
Ian Clement May 21, 2012:
I like the "sky rocketed" idea, but "esta tan..." isn't fitting for that.

The penny dropped right after I posted. The market has "shot up".
philgoddard May 21, 2012:
I don't know what "disparar" means without looking it up myself, but none of you has included any dictionary references which would help me to decide.
