I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH "propiciando una conciencia global para el trabajo." HELP!

"El objetivo de la internacionalización para Duoc UC es ofrecer distintas oportunidades de experiencias en el extranjero y así preparar mejor a sus alumnos para desempeñarse en un ambiente altamente competitivo en el cual deberán interactuar con professionales y especialistas formados en diferentes países, de diferentes culturas y bajo diferentes paradigmas educativos, propiciando una conciencia global para el trabajo."

I had to query a client recently about a very similar statement. He told me that what he had intended to express was that the school prepared students for globalization - gave them a mentality that allowed them to "pick up sticks," leave home, and work in another country, as well as consider this a natural way to develop a career instead of an act of desperation. Of course, your client may be on a completely different track. I'd query on this.

*I know that my answer smacks of interpretation, but I'm sure that's what the client is reaching for. They are offering an education that prepares students for "career mobility" - "to be prepared to develop their professional careers anywhere in the world" (two other options to play around with).

I'm not sure exactly what 'el trabajo' refers to though. Is it a specific type of work?


On another point, I would use 'For the DuocUC' rather than 'To the DuocUC' and 'trained' instead of 'formed'.

'especialistas formados en diferentes' = 'specialists trained in different ...'
