French term

concernant l’administration TVA.

Non-PRO French to English Bus/Financial Finance (general) re VAT mentioned in a contract
Le préavis ne change rien aux obligations respectives des parties concernant l’administration TVA

This is a legal contract. This is my translation: The notice does not affect the respective obligations of the parties with respect to VAT authorities

It is specifically 'concernant l'administration TVA I'm not 100% sure of. Thanks for any help.

Mar 17, 2013 12:47: writeaway changed "Field (specific)" from "Law: Taxation & Customs" to "Finance (general)" , "Field (write-in)" from "in a contract" to "re VAT mentioned in a contract "

Mar 17, 2013 14:20: GILLES MEUNIER changed "Level" from "PRO" to "Non-PRO"

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (3): Yvonne Gallagher, AllegroTrans, GILLES MEUNIER

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Discussion

Nikki Scott-Despaigne Mar 17, 2013:
Just a note about "legal contract" to say that it is sufficient to say "contract". "Legal contract" suggests an opposition to illegal contract which is no doubt not the case. In fact, "contract of law" would be better, but verges on the pedantic in this sort of context. I'd go for "contract". ;-)

with respect to VAT (payments)

I'd twist the sentencne around a bit.

Le préavis ne change rien aux obligations respectives des parties concernant l’administration TVA

VAT obligations of the respective parties are not changed in any way by this notice.

another option (would NOT use "authorities")

and typo: sentence
Peer comment(s):

neutral writeaway : it's as simple as just VAT. adding things/embellishing isn't a great idea imo
