English term

Host hotel

English to Spanish Marketing Tourism & Travel an Orlando company´s coursework
I am translating content for a course for travel agents that will specialize in Orlando trips.

I have the term "host hotel" but i cannot find the Spanish equivalent.

I am translating the section called "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Travel".

In another section there is a reference to "Gay Host hotels"... maybe this will be helpful...
Thanks a lot in advanced

Hostes-hotel - Thank you Taña for pointing it out, I translate many texts with the word Hostess… I didn´t notice.

Hello everyone! First of all thanks fdor taking the time to answer! I have chosen the term: "Hotel sede" as the most appropriate for the case. Now.. I have to answerers that have posted the same option.. I need to award points. Who should I give the points to? Thanks a lot to all of you! :)

Expression not exclusive to LGTB events The expression is used to hotels hosting any type of event:

http://www.snma.org/amec.php "The site and host hotel for the conference is The Galt House."

This relates directly to "Orlando" and speaks clearly about "hotel sede".

@ Olga: With all due respect, it is not a "hostess hotel", but rather "host hotel". Saludos.
Olga Alcaide May 7, 2013:
Charles Davis May 6, 2013:
The great advantage of a host hotel (official event hotel) is that everyone staying at the hotel will be LGBT, so you can relax and do your own thing. The photos on this page give you an idea of the atmosphere:

Host city, host town, host family, host hotel Why doesn't it make sense? It's the hotel which is being your host, which is hosting your stay....
http://www.gaydays.com/Las-Vegas/Featured/ - if you look at this site, you will see that there are two different host hotels referred to - they are the hotels hosting the event.
I think host refers to the people running the hotel, like gay host hotels are hotels run by someone who is gay.
So host hotel alone has no sense...

Without having more context, my guess is that it refers to a hotel that is hosting a particular event. In a case such as that, "hotel anfitrión" would fit fine.

GayDayS.com is official host of Orlando's annual (June) Gay Days Celebration including Gay Days in Disney's Magic Kingdom. Travel agent commissions on lodging at the Gay Days Host Hotel where GayDayS.com operates a ticket center, distributes the official Gay Days magazine and produces the Gay Days Expo.

Here "Host Hotel" is with capital letters, with "Gay Days Host Hotel" which is not the case in your example, or I would handle differently and leave it in English with perhaps a suitable translation in parentheses. Your example says "Gay Host hotels".

Another option, and perhaps a more generic way of handling is to use **"hotel sede"** (this is the term used in the Sun Sentinel Newspaper, Florida):
http://articles.sun-sentinel.com/2010-05-28/news/os-es-gayda...
