verily, man is formed from dust Explanation: This is the common idea. However, the poet played with the word order to stress the idea of humbleness. He says "walk in humbleness, for the ground's dust [you are stepping on] was formed from those bodies." |

Step softly; I trust the soil of this land is nothing but the dust of those bodies, Explanation: صاح هذي قبورنا تملأ الرحب فأين القبور من عهد عاد؟ خفف الوطء ما اظن اديم الارض الا من هذه لاجساد He shouted: these are our graves filling the surface! so where are those from the “ancestral times” That's an attempt to translate the verses, based on the meaning. |
