A Google search produces around 2,000 results but I can't find any reference to an English equivalent. I thought it might mean something along the lines of 'witnessed identification' but that I think that would be 'identificación de presencia' in Spanish. US english preferred. Any help would be appreciated.

Just seen your previous question stating it's a moulding machine. I'm guessing it's a check (visual inspection) to make sure the identifying marks/serial numbers/symbols etc are present on the part or device in question.

| Thanks for that. I think you're on the right track. Although that's how I imagine it gets called on the shop floor, I don't know if i can get away with 'ID check' as it's a fairly formal document. |

: Yes, I immediately thought of 'ID/identification checking' (because it's under the 'process' heading): ID checking process. But I didn't have enough confidence to post it as an answer ;)
