13 SUPPLEMENTARY WELDING REQUIREMENTS FOR HALF PIPE WELDED TO VESSEL

For welding of the half pipe to the external vessel wall the bevel preparation shall be as shown on Mechanical Data Sheet.

The welding to be performed with the above preparation shall guarantee full penetration joint, in order to obtain
- complete melting of half-pipe root face and of shall material
- section of weld joint (i.e. throat dimension of welds) shall have a thickness equal or more than half-pipe wall thickness
- internal profile of welds shall be smooth and rounded with the adjacent parent material: lack of fusion, excess of penetration or abrupt contour of weld metal inside are not accepted
The welding shall be performed with minimum of two passes.

Before start of production, in order to verify the compliance with above requirements a mock-up (approximately length 1 m) shall be provided. It shall be cut in 5 pieces and **each section of 4 cut surfaces shall be macro exanimate**.
