Cesarz Herakliusz wyruszając na wojnę z Persami w 622 roku powierza
Konstantynopol wstawiennictwu Marii, uobecnionej w relikwii płaszcza mającego nosić na
sobie ślady mleka, którym karmiła małego Jezusa. Jednak tak rozumiany kult maryjny nie stał
się jedynie domeną najwyższych sfer państwowych i duchowieństwa. Wiara w opiekę ikon i

For this reason – its longevity – the bone was used as a vessel during religious and magical rites and rituals. These bones are such an important part of the body and because they are believed to hold the essence of their owner, the bones of saints are considered holy relics, imbued with magical powers, and kept locked away in churches. - http://www.lightforcenetwork.com/anush/astrology-and-symboli...

To the catholic it's a holy relic imbued with mystical powers. One of the powers of the Holy Grail is to inspire quests to find it. - http://www.djduk.com/archives/2004_12.html

With regards to relics that are objects, an often cited passage is Acts 19:11–12, which says that Paul's handkerchiefs were imbued by God with healing power.- http://www.christianity-guide.com/christianity/relic.htm
