Spanish term

frecuencia de trayectorias optimizada

Spanish to English Science Mathematics & Statistics A Mathematician's Musings
The context: how mathematics can be found everywhere. The term appears in this paragraph:

"Los camareros, no se mueven de forma desordenada y aleatoria como en la mayoría de los restaurantes. Se puede apreciar que siguen un orden estricto y una frecuencia de trayectorias claramente optimizada."

This is my interpretation:

"The waiters don't move about in a disorderly or random fashion as in most restaurants. It can be seen that they follow a strict order and a path frequency clearly optimized."

whose trajectory frequencies are optimal / with optimal trajectory frequencies

The author is a mathematician, he's expressed himself in technical language in Spanish. So the same should be done in the translation.

Actually, if you want to be more flexible "clearly optimal path-constrained trajectories" works well for "un orden estricto y una frecuencia de trayectorias claramente optimizada"
Peer comment(s):

agree Anthony Mazzorana (X) : I think it needs to sound mathematical in English as well. I like the idea of keeping "frequency of trajectories" in the translation.

Thanks Anthony.
neutral Francois Boye : You seem to think in terms of dynamic programming. But it is the frequencies that are optimal, not the trajectories.

The way the ST refers to frequencies is somewhat unclear. But you are misreading my English.

follow an ordered pattern, effectively optimizing their movements

I think your interpretation is correct, but you will need to move a little away from the original here to make it flow well in English.

Mine is just a suggestion, but there will be many ideas!

Good luck :)

agree Caroline Clarke : This captures the meaning exactly

Thanks, Caroline!
neutral Francois Boye : It is the movement frequencies that are optimal, not the movements.

Spanish term (edited): frecuencia de trayectorias claramente optimizada

clearly optimized flow of traffic

Another take on it.

Consider:

"Traffic Flow

Having all the required areas for your restaurant means nothing if you do not take traffic into consideration.

The flow of your wait staff is vital to the satisfaction of your customers. No one wants to wait an hour for their meal, and the colliding of servers can be disastrous.

Take into consideration the flow of waiters and waitresses from the kitchen to their tables, as well as hosts and hostesses who must seat customers at their tables."
