philgoddard Sep 17, 2015:
Mary How do you know that it refers to Vitruvian Man? Is it explained somewhere else in the text?
It's "Vitruvian Man".
Taña Dalglish Sep 17, 2015:
@Jude69 Frankly, I have no idea what you are trying to justify now (by posting "Imágenes de rect man")! For the record, "No results found for "rect man diagram". https://www.google.com.jm/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&rlz=...
Mary Gardner Hume (asker) Sep 17, 2015:
DIAGRAMA HOMBRE RECTA thanks to your both, very helpful, the Rectangle Man diagram helped me find a reference to Leonardo Da Vinci's drawing known as the Vitruvial Man. Put that one in your glossary!! Thanks to everyone for their help!

Note from asker:
Yes, sorry, typing fast. But in fact the original text was "Diagrama Hombre Recta", so the proposed translation of Rectangular Man Drawing, made me research this term, and that is how I found the answer. I do take everything you say very seriously.
Jude69, thank you for your comments. Most helpful in directing me to the source of this engineering term!
Peer comment(s):

disagree Elizabeth Joy Pitt de Morales : I find not a single reference to "rectangle man" on the Internet. Please provide evidence supporting that "rectangle man" is actually a construction term, as you have stated -- or a valid term in any context. Unsubstantiatable terms are counterproductive.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "although this was a very controversial question, this particular tip took me down the road to my final answer of the Vitruvian Man by Da Vinci. Thanks to you all for your help and sorry for any upsets along the way. Have a nice weekend!"

Thank you Mary. However, while I respect your final opinion, like Phil, I am still very doubtful about the term "Vetruvian Man" (Phil asked: How do you know that it refers to Vitruvian Man? Is it explained somewhere else in the text? - which incidentally, you have not answered), and I tend to agree with him given the context you provided. As you provided "Hombre Recta" which IMO, says very little, if anything at all (I firmly believe it is an error in description of the course), and while not trying to justify anything, I thought it may refer to the concept of "Homo Erectus" and nothing to do with the Vitruvian Man. But, again, I respect your final decision, and assume that your client will have the final say, so from that angle, it would be good to receive some feedback! Regards.
Note from asker:
Thank you Taña.
Taña, once again, thank you for all of your support. I always use you as a reference. In this particular case, the original term of "Diagrama Hombre Rect", I was helped by the English Rectangle Man Diagram suggestion, which led me to research it and there is where I found the answer of Da Vinci's Vetruvian Man. So thank you all for your help.

Excuse me!!!! It is you who let yourself down! And again your appalling responses and insults do not help your cause. (yr. remark: Stop being a let down to this forum.Go see a doctor dear .You have an ira problem.Cheers!!). Your opinion is nought to me
agree philgoddard : I think the similarity to "homo erectus" is probably coincidence, but you deserve an agree for putting up with those bizarre and idiotic comments :-)

Phil, it is nice to have your support! I saw your other comments in the discussion box! No, if my ref. is wrong, then no I don´t deserve an agree (& I have no issue admitting when I am wrong!). I have an issue with the constant misleading information!
agree Elizabeth Joy Pitt de Morales : An agree and a big hug. You're one of the most generous contributors! Just consider the source of the negative comments...
