Thus, the parking brake is a Feststellbremse in a maintenance manual und eine Parkbremse in einer Betriebsanleitung, dem Owner's Manual. pinchweld is a technical welding term, der aus dem Rohkarroseriebau stammt - der Windschutzscheibenwechsel ist da meilenweit entfernt, denn da geht es dann nur mehr um den Rahmen, der die Scheibe hält.

Scheiben-/Karosserieflansch
Pinchweld ist grob gesagt ein windshield bonding flange. In vielen Anleitungen wird einfach vom Flansch, Scheibenflansch oder Karosserieflansch gesprochen. Klebeflansch findet man gaaanz selten.

I speculate that the first use of the term was back in the days when windshields were transitioning from being in a surrounding frame fastened to the body by nuts, bolts and screws, to being attached to a portion of the vehicle that was formed by pinch welding the steel-outer skin to the steel of the vehicle frame. Referring to the “pinchweld” was easier than saying “windshield bonding flange.”
