Law/Patents - Patents / endovascular graft, inflatble cuff, stent
English term or phrase: distinct from
an expansion member secured to and extending from the proximal end away from the proximal end of the frame structure and configured to exert an outward radial force distinct from the frame structure.
-By having an expansion member which is distinct from the proximal cuff, the sealing function of the cuff, which requires supple conformation to the vessel wall without excessive radial force, can be separated from the anchoring function of the expansion member, which can require significant radial force.
-Injection of a pressurized substance into an inflatable cuff will cause the cuff to take a generally annular shape, although the cuff can conform to the shape of the vessel within which it is deployed, and exert a sufficient radial force outward against the inner surface of the body passageway to be treated in order to provide the desired sealing function.

agree  Didier Fourcot: C'est ce que je comprend aussi mais le texte source est mal écrit "force... distinct from... structure" une force peut être distincte d'une autre, une structure d'une autre mais elles sont de nature différente
