This is in an instruction manual for an inventory control program. I think that it might be simply another word for "return" and they are differentiating between merchandise that is returned to their suppliers and merchandise that is returned to their warehouse (it's an online shoe company), but I have found no evidence of this online and I am not sure at all. Thank you!!

This is a possibility. Surplus stock is either returned to supplier or moved on for clearance sales or to an outlet. The fact that they send the merchandise to a different company could be that a third party company deals with the clearance sales.
The only example I have been able to find is this;
"Tomar ventaja de las ventas navideñas en los días de fiesta y ocasiones especiales como Navidad y acción de gracias, todas las tiendas en línea ofrecen la venta de acciones de vaciado y outlets en la mercancía."

I don't think it involves any kind of sales.
It is just that one empties the place and sends the items back to the provider. That needs to be controlled in the inventory.
"Vaciado" is just another way to express "devolución al proveedor".
As simple as that.

Yes, there are no "sales". It is simply "returns from the warehouse. There is no "clearance sales", as the merchandise is being returned. As Neilmac notes it could be said "stock clearance", although, in my view "clearance" tends to have the nuance of "selling cheaper to the public," which is not the case here...

Yes. It seems to me that that is what they are talking about. They send the stocks back, as these have not been sold.

It is just that one empties the place and sends the items back to the provider. That needs to be controlled in the inventory.
