denunciar la Convención Colectiva

Spanish to English Law/Patents Law: Contract(s) Labor Union Meeting Minutes
"Que para poder presentar pliego de peticiones y generar un nuevo conflicto colectivo es necesario dar cumplimiento al artículo 479 del CST, es decir denunciar la Convención Colectiva dentro de los términos legales."

I understand that "denunciar" is an expression of disagreement with a collective bargaining agreement and subsequent renegotiation of conditions. I am just unsure as to how to render that in English.

Once again, this is a Colombian Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Thanks!

give notice to terminate the Collective Bargaining Agreement

The idea of "denunciar" here has little to do with the conventional meaning of "denounce", it means to inform the other party that you will be terminating the agreement.

reject the Collective Agreement

Although I see nothing wrong with "denounce" either.
Example sentence:

"He denounced the agreement, which he referred to as...-"

"... but the nation's leading apparel union rejected the agreement..."

Peer comment(s):

neutral Robert Carter : No, Neil, it's not that, and definitely not "denounce". Saludos!

To give notice of termination.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Toni Castano : Not the termination itself, but the formal notice to communicate it. // I didn´t see your note when I posted. Yes, formal notice it is.

I added that in my note, but apparently was too late.
agree Robert Carter : Your subsequent note wasn't there when I posted. Saludos!
