main part of the record of a judicial proceeding Explanation: Tom West. Spanish-English Dictionary of Law and Business. Second Revised, Expanded and Corrected Version, 2012. I agree with Wilsonn that it is "pieza de autos". This is the translation that West gives above. I also use Alcaraz, V. & Hughes B. (1997). Diccionario de términos jurídicos inglés-español, 10e. Madrid: Editorial Ariel, and feel it is a good dictionary. If there is a discrepancy into English, I prefer West's dictionary when translating into English since he is an attorney in the US, has practiced law in different Latin American countries, and is the former President of the ATA. However, both are good sources. |

court record / case record Explanation: I agree with Wilsonn and Michael that it should be "pieza de autos", and that their translations are reliable ones, but I think given the context, what the text really means here is simply the "autos", i.e. the "case record". I would word it like this: "Acknowledge my submission of the agreement in question to the Hon. Court, to be added to the case record for the ensuing legal purposes." |
