Spanish term

material de curación aséptica

Spanish to English Medical Medical (general)
I am translating a lengthy contract dealing with medicine. It is from Mexico. Here is the paragraph that contains the phrase that I find difficult to translate:

OUE SU REPRESENTADA TIENE POR OBJETO LA COMPRA, VENTA, IMPORTACION, EXPORTACION, DISTRIBUCION DE TODA CLASE DE MEDICINAS DE PATENTE, DROGAS, MATERIAL DE CURACION ASEPTICA, PRODUCTOS QUIMICOS E INDUSTRIALES, POR LO QUE PROPONE A "EL INSTITUTO", EL SUMINISTRO DE BIENES OBJETO DE ESTE CONTRATO.

Discussion

Muriel Vasconcellos Jun 11, 2017:
@ Paul Thank you. That's very interesting. Surprising, in fact, as I would not have thought all that stuff came under the heading of "curación". This means that my answer was wrong and I apologize.
Paul Merriam Jun 11, 2017:
If you look at "material de curación" in any search engine, you'll find lots of people selling it. Example http://www.labequim.com.mx/html/MATERIAL DE CURACION.htm . You'll find tongue depressers, petri dishes, disposable mirrors for examining the vagina and various other things not used for dressing wounds.
Helena Chavarria Jun 10, 2017:
I was about to suggest 'sterile dressings' but it might include sterile gloves, sterile gowns, sterile drapes and masks.
Silvia Hanine-Studnicki Jun 10, 2017:
Something like: material for aseptic healing of wound.

sterile treatment material

If you look at this catalog, the material de curación includes lots of materials like stethoscopes, catheters and medical waste bags. The "dressing" is too restrictive.

agree philgoddard : You're the only person to provide a Spanish reference. English ones are not much use.

I said in my answer that it was the material needed for the process of dressing a wound.

As I explained in my answer, I intended it to mean any material needed to dress a wound, not just the bandage, but the dressing process.
