English Social Sciences Education / Pedagogy education pedagogy

Many thanks!

Discussion

Elias Marios Kounas Nov 11, 2019:
Yes, the text should best be revised by an English native professional (i.e. American or English).

Agree with Yvonne
2.1 One term is allowed per question.
Including multiple terms for translation in a single KudoZ posting interferes with the process of generating glossary entries.
2.2 Texts posted for translation via KudoZ should be limited to approximately ten (10) words.
For longer texts, it is recommended that the directory or job posting system be used to locate an appropriate professional. See a more detailed description here.

Yvonne Gallagher Nov 11, 2019:
@ Asker Kudoz is intended for translation questions, not for free proofreading. And there is a 10-word limit. It's clear you need an English native reviser as your examples are far from OK.
Tomasso Nov 10, 2019:
Ideas Which competencies do teachers have a weak belief that they have achieved them?

U S Eng. maybe *** About which skills (comp.) do teachers feel less confident that they have fully achieved (them)*** ? Maybe, Which skills do teachers lack full confidence in their achievement?

What do teachers with various levels of experience, feel about what constitutes effective strategies in achieving professional competencies?
Depends on audience , and location, U K or international Eng??

I'd clarify and revise

For the first question, did you mean: "Which professional skills do teachers find the hardest to master (/tend to struggle with the most)?"?

I’d also try and reword the second question, something along the lines of: "What kinds of strategies have teachers—both novice and experienced—found most effective in reaching (/helping them achieve) professional competence?".

Suggested improvements

Hello.

I think that the wording can be improved.
For example, instead of "varying lengths of practice", I would use "varying experience" or, at least, "varying levels of experience".

Moreover, regarding Question 1, I would say: "What do teachers see as their weaknesses?"

corrections

1. Which competencies do teachers have a weak belief that they have achieved them?

In which areas of competence do teachers feel (that) they have fallen short?

2. What strategies do teachers with varying lengths of practice consider effective in achieving professional competencies?

What strategies do teachers with varying lengths of practice in the job consider effective in achieving professional competence?

"lengths of practice" sounds a little off and maybe better to say "time on the job"

more colloquial and ok
Peer comment(s):

agree Tina Vonhof (X) : I agree with your suggestion for question (1) but not with 'in the job' in question (2) - it's redundant.
