English term or phrase: POS asset
"giving the profile of POS such as asset, location, and network configuration."

La phrase est trouvée dans une liste de menus dont la racine supérieure parle de surveillance de données.

POS = Point of sale, c'est un TPE en français, terminal de paiement. Je n'arrive pas à comprendre le sens d'asset dans cette phrase.

Merci beaucoup, j'étais un peu sceptique même après la lecture de la source (très utile !) mais le commentaire de Germaine m'a convaincu.

POS, such as asset
TPV, tel que ressource

Explanation:
I believe 'asset' refers to the device, but it could be the terminal ID or the model or perhaps something else. Microsoft's Language Portal suggests many different translations. For 'asset' > 'ressource' the description is, 'An item, such as devices, apps, macros, add-ins and drivers, which Desktop Analytics tests in a deployment plan.' Without more context, it's not obvious.

agree  Daryo: exactly, this text is not about accounting // here "asset" is whatever useful hardware / equipment is available / physically located at the POS. 'ressource' makes sense

Actif d'un terminal de vente

Explanation:
Il s'agit des éléments qui rentrent dans le profile d'un POS: les actifs, l'emplacement, la configuration réseau. Car après "such as" il y a un énumération. Le link que je vous ai donné peut être utile pour la compréhension d'un POS.

-> No, it's not about accounting. Assets means also "objects". A POS implies a certain logistics, meaning physical and logical resources, each of them with a role in a POS functioning.
