Las cell factories son estructuras de varias capas con bandejas (trays, dishes, plates?) que se apilan formando torres. Imagino, aunque hace falta contexto, que el original "factorías" se refiere a cell factory trays, en tanto que deben revisarse al microscopio. Esto es, factoría haría referencia en el original a cada una de las bandejas de una cell factory.
