Betreuter Umsatz

German to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general)
Hello,
I'm looking for a proper translation of the term "Betreuter Umsatz". It is used in the company presentation of a digital agency.

">300 Mio. € betreuter Umsatz"

As far as I'm concerned, "betreuter Umsatz" covers all the money the agency gets from clients to create ads, build websites, etc.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

Any help would be very much appreciated!

I asked one of my colleagues at the agency for a definition of "betreuter Umsatz". He gave me the following:
Betreuter Umsatz ist der "Umsatz, den unsere Kunden über ihre Plattformen, die wir betreuen/gebaut haben - meist Shops - erzielen."
Maybe that helps to find a solution. So far, it looks like there isn't a literal translation for "betreut".

translation is about putting yourself in the mind of the writer of the source text but sometimes you have to ask the writer directly (if that's an option)

Unfortunately, I can't provide an entire sentence/paragraph. As mentioned in my initial question, it is taken from a company presentation and there's a slide which simply lists important figures, e.g.:

Absolutely. I think we all agree that turnover is the right choice for "Umsatz" here. I'm just wondering whether "betreut" in this context can be expressed with one word in English or whether it needs to be paraphrased. Looking forward to some more input :)

You definitely have a point! I just made up a number in my example: the agency's actual "Umsatz" is not even €50 million while its "betreuter Umsatz" exceeds €4 billion. So it might actually refer to the income of all the clients it has (which are more than 100).

Funds gets away from the BrE : turnover vs. AmE : sales dichotomy and a different way to go from a misleading, literal translation.

I have to post quickly before the gremlins sabotage this answer.
Example sentence:

Seems to me that any literal translation of 'betreuter' doesn't get far. This I admit is based on lateral thinking and is perhaps what is meant here.

This is an interesting one. I agree with Phil, but would call it explicitly total clients' sales under management. Maybe something like "sales/revenue responsible for" could also work, if there is a better more to phrase it lol.

This sounds like a good way to paraphrase it. I posted a definition of "betreuter Umsatz" in the discussion. How would you change your suggestion so that it becomes clear that it's only the "Umsatz" made via platforms, shops, etc. that the agency has developed?
