night catch

English to Spanish Other Poetry & Literature translating symbolism
Thank you colleagues,

I'm working on a children's book, the title is night catch and it refers to a metaphorical ball game between a father and son across the world..

not sure how to translate it, I thought of using a completely different thing like Jugando entre las estrellas... but I'd appreciate suggestions!

Discussion

Hi! I think choosing a completely different title would be the best option, indeed. I don't know much about the story, but "Jugando entre las estrellas" sounds nice to me. If there is a passage of the book where the game is described or mentioned as "night catch", you can share and I can think of another option, if you want. :)

La caza de las estrellas /// ¡Atrapa la estrella polar!

Se me ocurre, viendo la portada del libro original:

...Brenda’s book, Night Catch, published in 2005, is an illustrated children’s book that plays off the traditional game of catch. The book traces the story of a soldier who receives an overseas assignment and must leave his family. To help his young son through the transition, he promises to play a nightly game of catch using the North Star. He tells his son if he takes a deep breath and blows hard enough, he’ll send the North Star flying through the sky each night, reaching the father in time for him to send it sailing right back...
Espero que ayude
Note from asker:
Gracias!

Just another option that connects with the usual translation of "playing catch" ("juego de pelota"). Good luck!
Note from asker:
I like this very much, gracias Pablo! I think I'm leaning towards Atrapa la Estrella, because it's about playing catch with the North Star but will let the publisher choose. I appreciate your input
