Spanish term

se realizó por intención de tratar en las variables

Spanish to English Medical Medical: Pharmaceuticals Statistical report for clinical trial
I'm struggling to translate this correctly not being hugely confident in this area and wondered if anyone could help?

This is the sentence

El análisis final se realizó por intención de tratar en las variables de eficacia analizadas en el estudio.

And my attempt...

The final analysis was executed by intention-to-treat in the efficacy variables analysed in the study.

an intention-to-treat analysis was carried out on the ... variables

"Randomized controlled trials often suffer from two major complications, noncompliance and missing outcomes. One potential solution to this problem is a statistical concept called intention-to-treat (ITT) analysis."

"Por" here means "for each" or "broken down by".

So I'd say something like this:

Finally, an intention-to-treat analysis was carried out on the efficacy values analyzed in the study.

intention-to-treat population (see full sentence below)

My suggested translation:

The final evaluation of the efficacy criteria was carried out in the intention-to-treat population/on an intention-to-treat basis.

The term "intention-to-treat population" is often used in clinical studies to refer to the group of people that is intended to receive the study drug/treatment. In this case the final analysis is to evaluate the efficacy of the drug/treatment in this specific study group.
