no mass effect is noted

Mass effect is a phenomenon in which a focal lesion or contusion causes surrounding areas of brain tissue or brain structures to be compressed and injured due to the degree of space that leaking blood, cerebrospinal fluid, or edema takes up within the restricted skull space.

Thanks a lot David. "No mass effect was noted" seems rather common in this context though.

there is no perceived bulking

mass effect is already in the glossaries and, if contained in a personal injury report for forensic purposes in the UK at least, might well be queried.
Example sentence:

, Brain ... In particular, such compositions can be used as soft-tissue bulking agents.

Peer comment(s):

disagree liz askew : bulking agents has nothing to do with this

disagree Joseph Tein : "mass effect" is a specific term that needs to be used here. See: https://mayfieldclinic.com/pe-braintumor.htm
