attending physician (on call)

Medical - Medical (general) / organisation of physicians in a hospital
English term or phrase: attending physician (on call)
I am translating an epicrisis for a NSCLC patient from Danish into French, and the Danish term "bagvagt" appears. In the Danish hospital system, a "bagvagt" is a senior physican with many years for experience who supports the physicians in the front line.

Does anyone know if the French hospital system has a similar function, and if yes, what is such a function called? If I understand it correctly, it is not a 'médicin de garde', as this function seems to be oriented towards citizens falling ill outside hours/outside hospitals.

Praticien Hospitalier

Explanation:
PH = Praticien Hospitalier.
If it is out of working hours, it can be "PH d'astreinte = "Praticien Hospitalier d'astreinte"
In English, the word would be "Consultant" but in French, the equivalent that I could find is "Praticien Hospitalier."
